Good Fortune Restaurant

Honestly, I’m not sure how to rate this restaurant. I came here for dinner with my parents for their birthdays. The food here wasn’t exactly all that appealing. It looks good, I’ll give them that, but other than that I don’t think I really have anything good to say. Their dimsum is good, but dinner food is really just a “meh” (if that even makes sense). I’m not saying that it tastes  bad, but it just doesn’t live up to my expectations.

The service, though, was horrible. It took a long time for them to come and take our order. When we finished eating, we wanted to stay a bit longer to just chat, but they came right away to take our plates away. It was as if they were rushing us out for no reason. It’s not like the restaurant was packed. It was quite empty even after we finished our food. One of the waitresses, she took a plate off the table and spilled some sauce onto my dad. She didn’t even notice until my dad pointed it out, then she said sorry. She told another waiter to go and get some wet napkins, which by the way never made its way to us.

Good Fortune, overall, is a decent dimsum place to go to, but dinner I wouldn’t recommend it.

Bubble Waffle Cafe

4 out of 5 Stars

Vancouver, Canada Run:

I’d give this five stars, but that will probably overdo it. I mean nothing is perfect, right? This Fishball Steam Roll has the perfect mix of oyster sauce, peanut butter, and soy sauce. In addition to fish balls and steam rolls, you also get siu mai, which you normally don’t get when you order this else where. The fishball is the perfect bite size. Eating this, reminds me so much of Hong Kong, though it’s not quite at that same level yet. This however is the best steam roll I’ve had in Vancouver, Canada. I couldn’t describe it any better. You’ll have to try it for yourself to know how good it is.

Shanghai Asian Cuisine

4 out of 5 Stars

Shanghai Asian Cuisine is one of the better shanghai places to eat in Chinatown. Their soup dumplings have a very savory taste in its soup. One of my favourite dishes there is the spicy wonton. Its made with a special spicy sauce. My most favourite dish is the Kau Fu, which is basically tofu made with soy sauce. With each bite of the kau fu, it leaves you wanting more bites. It gets addicting.

This place is always packed with people because it’s so small, but its food is delicious, so the wait is worth it. The wait, however, isn’t really that long. The longest I’ve waited was maybe 30 minutes.

Wu La Bu Huan

3.5 out of 5 Stars

Wu La Bu Huan is usually my go to place when I am in need of a quick meal. It’s cheap and the portion is HUGE! Each order is almost doubled. It normally takes me two days to finish one order. Here, you get to choose your own food and how spicy you want it. You can choose from “No Spicy,” “Less Spicy,” “Little Spicy,” “Medium Spicy,” or “Crazy Spicy.” Personally, I’ve never tried the crazy spicy, but I heard that it’s so spicy that your tongue goes numb with one bite. For those of you who loves a challenge, this is the place to go.
