Lake Pavilion

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lake Pavilion provides decent family style dinner. They have a lot of big tables and rooms available for large families. We had 12 people going and finding a table for us was not a problem. I like the steak dish the most. The steak was not too tender and it’s not hard to bite into. I don’t like the walnut shrimp much because it tastes a bit too sweet. Normally that’s one of my favourite dishes to get so I wouldn’t have a problem with it, but I honestly don’t suggest getting it here. Everything else you pretty much get what you ordered. #lakepavilion #chinesefood #flushingny #nyceats ©️StephanieTravels1314 Contact: stephanietravels1314@gmail.com Facebook: https://facebook.com/stephanietravels1314/ Instagram: @stephanietravels1314

Tiger Sugar

2.5 out of 5 Stars

Tiger Sugar finally came to New York. We waited outside in the blazing sun for ten minutes for the “Brown Sugar Milk Tea.” I am, personally, a super fan of “Brown Sugar,” and being that fan, I tend to have a higher expectation. I first had this in Hong Kong, and that was splendid, so I thought “Wow, they finally have Tiger Sugar in NY.” Therefore, I went to Flushing, and got this drink, but to my disappointment, it didn’t taste the same. The tapioca is a bit weird, they’re not entirely the same size. They have small ones and big ones mixed inside, and they have a weird texture. There’s too much milk and not enough brown sugar. It was a waste of ten minutes of my life.

Tsurutontan (Japan)

4.9 out of 5 Stars (Almost Perfect)

The hot version of the Mendaiko Caviar Udon tastes so much better than the cold. The hot gives it more taste because the noodles absorb the sauce better than the cold. Sadly, they only have this in Japan. I wish they would have it in New York, too.

This beef udon is also only available in Japan. There are a lot of beef in the udon unlike most restaurants in New York, where they only give you a few pieces of beef and the rest of the bowl is noodles.

If you’re ever in Japan and you are in search of udons, I recommend trying out Tsurutontan. You will NOT be disappointed!

Like Cafe/ Tsurutontan

LIKE CAFE: 4 out of 5 Stars

The Hong Kong Style milk tea has the good combination of milk and tea. It’s just a few points away from perfect.

This Fishball Steam Roll is heaven. The sauces are an excellent mix. It reminds me so much of Hong Kong. This is my favourite dish from this place.

The Satay Beef Instant Noodles can be better. It’s not bad, but it’s not the best either. It would be better if they could put a bit more sauce to the beef, perhaps making it a bit stronger than it is now.

Tsurutontan: 4.5 Stars out of 5

The Mendaiko Caviar Noodles is my favourite dish from Tsurutontan. I love how everything sort of melts in your mouth when you bite into it. I’d definitely recommend this dish to anyone who comes to this restaurant! You will NOT be disappointed!

Good Fortune Restaurant

Honestly, I’m not sure how to rate this restaurant. I came here for dinner with my parents for their birthdays. The food here wasn’t exactly all that appealing. It looks good, I’ll give them that, but other than that I don’t think I really have anything good to say. Their dimsum is good, but dinner food is really just a “meh” (if that even makes sense). I’m not saying that it tastes  bad, but it just doesn’t live up to my expectations.

The service, though, was horrible. It took a long time for them to come and take our order. When we finished eating, we wanted to stay a bit longer to just chat, but they came right away to take our plates away. It was as if they were rushing us out for no reason. It’s not like the restaurant was packed. It was quite empty even after we finished our food. One of the waitresses, she took a plate off the table and spilled some sauce onto my dad. She didn’t even notice until my dad pointed it out, then she said sorry. She told another waiter to go and get some wet napkins, which by the way never made its way to us.

Good Fortune, overall, is a decent dimsum place to go to, but dinner I wouldn’t recommend it.

Girl Problems, and what YOU as a boyfriend can do……

It’s that time of the month again. Every woman out there experience the monthly menstrual cycle. Surely, many of you guys out there deal with this for a week every month. Your girlfriend or wife has her period and she’s getting all emotional, or irritated and complaining to you cramps or headaches, or she might get all moody. All you do is just sit there and listen, but do you know that instead of just sitting there and listen, you can actually do something about it? Have you ever thought about what you can do to make them feel better? Here are some of the things you can do the next time they complain:

1. Buy them chocolate or make the a cup of hot chocolate. Chocolates are sweet and sweets make a person happier, and if their mood lifts up. Being in a good mood makes them worry less, and if they’re happy, you’re happy!

Disclaimer: don’t over do on the chocolates. Too much chocolate does make you fat and gives you acne breakouts. You want shower them with chocolates to make them happier, but too much of it and you’ll have another problem. So be careful with this one.

2. Buy them flowers. As chocolates make them happier flowers also have the same effect, this one is totally harmless! The more the merrier!

3. Have a pack of Midol at home. Whenever they complain about cramps, you can give them a pill.

Disclaimer: Midol is a pain killer specifically made for period cramps, but eating too much may cause other problems. Eating too much medicine isn’t good for your body anyway.

4. Make her a cup of chamomile tea. You can buy chamomile tea tea bags in any grocery store.

5. Make her a cup of ginger tea. Ginger keeps the body warm and when you’re warm your cramps also tend to go away. You can boil two to three slices of ginger with a red tea tea bag together for 10 to 15 minutes. Let it stand for a minute or until it becomes drinkable temperature. Serve and enjoy!

Optional#1: Add 1 to 2 tsps of honey into the ginger tea to add some sweet taste to it (DO NOT boil the honey!)

Optional#2: You can add some milk to it to turn it into a ginger milk tea.

Disclaimer: As ginger helps stimulate blood flow, make sure she’s not experiencing heavy blood flow first before you make this for her. You wouldn’t want her to bleed more than she already is.

6. Get her a heat pad. As mentioned in #5, heat keeps the cramps away.

7. Keep her hydrated. Give her lots of water, but make sure it’s warm water. Don’t ever give her cold water, as cold water will only make cramps worse.

8. Cuddle with her, or hug her. This will definitely make them happy. And you always feel better when you’re happy.

9. Tug her into sleep. A good nap will put all her troubles and crankiness away.

10. Just be with her and make her happy!

There you go, guys! The next time your girlfriend or wife complains, try some of the 9 things listed above! Make her happy and you’ll be happier too! If she’s in a good mood, then you can go ahead and play with your games without any interruptions. It’s a win-win!

The Seafire Grill

SFG Surf & Turf

The Surf & Turf consists of a 12oz. filet mignon, 2oz. lobster, 2oz. shrimp, 1oz. king crab, and some red wine reduction. The steak was a bit too fat, but other than that no complaints all. This combination is like heaven when it reaches your mouth. The sauce is an amazing mix to your food.

Squid Ink Spaghetti

This wasn’t my favourite dish. Though, I like it for its lobsters because the lobsters are really fresh, the spaghetti was a bit bland. There wasn’t enough sauce or flavour to the spaghetti.

Creme Brûlée

Dessert! My favourite part of the meal. This creme brûlée is an amazing add to the meal. Best of all, it’s FREE! It’s free for the table if you check in on yelp, but they only limit you to one per table. It’s still worth to try it! Who doesn’t love free stuff, right?

Overall Experience: 4.5 out of 5 Stars! The servers are polite and patient. The servers never raised a voice at you or show any signs of impatience when you couldn’t make a decision on what to get. They were willing to answer all your questions about the food and they all seem to know what they’re talking about. Food is beyond words. I’d definitely come back here again someday.

K-Town

3 out of 5 stars

The Kimchi Fried Rice was good. The rice is soft and the spiciness is just perfect in your mouth. The bogolgi glass noodles makes a good appetizer. It’s on the main course section but it’s really small. It’s more of an appetizer. The broth is sweet and the noodles soaks in that broth making it more tasty. The cheese doodles and cheese fries make an interesting combo. Personally I like the fries more than the doodles.
